For years, I’ve taught people how to express themselves fully—through sound, through movement, through mindfulness. What I’ve learned is this:
the body is our first instrument.
When it’s tense, tired, or overwhelmed, everything else we try to create—our music, our relationships, our energy—feels harder than it needs to.

Balance.

Yoga, qigong, martial arts, meditation, and even cello performance all share a common heartbeat:
breath, alignment, awareness, and flow.
When you understand those principles in the body, everything else opens.

Alignment.

On this page, all these threads come together. This is not “fitness.”
This is embodied artistry—a way of living where strength, creativity, and self-love support each other instead of competing.

ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Dorothy—a musician, movement guide, and lifelong student of the mind–body connection.

For decades, I’ve explored how movement, breath, and sound shape the way we live, create, and heal. My background weaves together years of cello performance and teaching, extensive practice in martial arts, and a deep love for yoga, qigong, and meditation.
What I’ve learned along the way is simple:

The body is the foundation of our expression.
When it is aligned, calm, and empowered, everything else becomes possible.

I began integrating yoga and qigong into my work because I saw how many people—musicians, athletes, parents, creatives—were carrying tension, stress, and self-criticism in their bodies. And I knew from my own martial-arts training and healing journey that there was a better way.

Today, my teaching blends:

  • Strength and softness from martial arts

  • Healing and energy flow from qigong

  • Grounding and self-love from yoga

  • Mindfulness and creativity from music

My approach is gentle but powerful, accessible but transformative. Whether you join me for movement, meditation, or healing work, my goal is always the same:

To help you reconnect with your body, release what’s heavy, and rediscover your own strength, clarity, and compassion.


What's the point? LIGHT AND LOVE

qigong (I often spell it chi gong so people know how to pronounce it) IS transformative! It helps with headaches, depression, anxiety, stress, self healing and self love. I have made it into a spiritual, emotional, and physical practice. Its the best thing ever!

I won a recipe contest for reduced fat, whole grain blueberry chocolate cake! Recipe creation and substitution is a natural byproduct of my love for nutrition and health. Simplifying, and improving nutritional value  I studied advanced nutrition and performance enhancement in college, and I love creating food that supports energy, recovery, gut health, and joy. For me, baking is another form of artistry and healing: a way to nourish the body with intention and care.

Martial arts has been a lifelong love! Ive done Japanese Sanzaru Jujitsu and Karate, Shaolin Kung Fu, American Kenpo, Capoeira, and Krav Maga.

I teach women self defense for private events, including youth groups.

I am a teacher! Book me for your next event! I teach music, yoga, qigong, women self defense. I can incorporate dance, toning, pilates, meditation, self love and self healing, EFT, lymphatic, massage, anatomy and physiology, spiritual, connection to God. I can teach about health, nutrition, cooking and baking. Lots of tricks in my hat!
